Joseph Bohannon Obituary

Joseph Benjamin Bohannon was born Nov. 4, 1933, in Crab Orchard, and passed away Nov. 10, 2016, at the age of 83.
His parents, Pearl Anne and Bud Bohannon, and three brothers preceded him in death. He was married to Maxine Swing Bohannon, who also preceded him in death. He is survived by his two sons, Benjamin Dale Bohannon of Arlington, Va., and Joseph Brent Bohannon of Fairfax, Va.; two grandsons, Paul Dale Bohannon and Jonathan William Bohannon and daughter-in-law, Billie Bohannon.
J.B. served in the U.S. Army in the late 1950s. He was a skilled builder, carpenter and cabinet maker during his professional life. He began working at W.H. Swing lumber company in Westel. He moved to Virginia in the mid-1960s and was the owner and operator of several businesses during his working career. Outside of work he was an automobile enthusiast and enjoyed driving up until his death.
Arrangements are as follows: Funeral services were noon Monday, Nov. 14, at Evans Mortuary. Visitation with family and friends were from 10 a.m. to noon at the mortuary prior to the service. Memorial service began at noon with internment following at Oak Grove Cemetery in Rockwood.
