Aaron Hunt Dean
August 30, 1996 - February 14, 2021
On Sunday, February 14, 2021, we lost part of our heart when Aaron Hunt Dean, 24, of Moneta, Virginia, went to be with his Lord and Savior. Our loss is Heaven's gain.
Aaron never had an easy life physically but through it all he remained a Godly inspiration to everyone around him. Aaron was a graduate of Life Academy and was a student at Liberty University, planning to go into the field of medicine. Aaron had a heart for God, and it showed in everything he did. He grew up at Lakeside Baptist Church where he was an active member, participating and helping in the youth ministry. He went on numerous mission trips, including Guatemala, to spread God's Word. He loved studying the Word of God and was our family's go to with Biblical questions.
Aaron loved basketball and played on Life Academy's team. He didn't miss a game at Smith Mountain Lake Christian Academy where he kept records for his brother's team. He was a huge UNC fan, an avid bowler, and enjoyed all sports. He especially loved hunting and fishing with his Dad, and we know that he is in Heaven teaching his three-year-old cousin, William Anderson, and one-year-old cousin, Lauren Ward, how to fish. Aaron had a special bond with his cousin Brandon, and Aaron's family is so thankful for the cross-country trip the two of them shared a couple of summers ago as well as the cross-country trip with his grandparents, Bill and Faye Dean, two years prior to that. He loved his dog Bentley, he loved his church, his friends, and especially his family but above all he loved his God and Savior.
Aaron was such a special, loving, caring son, brother, grandson, cousin, nephew, and friend who left us way too soon and will be missed more than words can express.
He is survived by his parents, Bryan and Sandra Dean; his brother, Thomas Dean; his grandparents, Bill and Faye Dean; his uncles and aunts, Jesse and Sharon Hale and Jose and Karla Martinez; his cousins, Dr. Kaleigh Almeida and her husband, Josh Almeida, Taylor Hale, Brandon Martinez, and Jessica Martinez; as well as extended family and numerous friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Phillip and Evelyn Hunt.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. on Friday, February 19, 2021, at Oakey's North Chapel. The Funeral Service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 20, 2021, at Lakeside Baptist Church, Salem, Va., where the service will be live streamed over the Lakeside Baptist Church Facebook page beginning at 11a.m. on Saturday, February 20, 2021.
