Arlene Joyce Collins Payne

Arlene Joyce Collins Payne, 81, of Roanoke, Va., died on Sunday, May 2, 2010, at Roanoke Memorial Hospital. She was born in Roanoke, Va., on April 15, 1929, a daughter of the late Wiley Willard Collins and Mabel Marie Woods Collins. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Isaac Edward Payne; and one sister Hazel Louise Collins Ayers. Arlene is survived by one daughter, Linda Anne Payne Woolridge, of Bedford; two grandchildren, Isaac Kalen Karnes and his wife, Rachael, of Vinton, and Isabella Marie Woolridge, of Bedford; one sister, Dorothy Marie Collins Allen, of Richmond; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 6, 2010, at Tharp Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Marc Reynolds officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.
