Barbara Jean DeGEORGIS

Our beloved friend, mother, grandmother, and great-grandma, Barbara Jean DeGeorgis, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, December 7, 2013 in the early morning. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and also was a creative woman, producing many items during her life for her family and friends. Her smile, her love, and her wisdom will be missed.
Barbara was born on August 30, 1932 to the late Alfred and Christine Cormier in Massachusetts. She was married to the late Donald Henry DeGeorgis on May 26, 1950. She was also preceded in death by her first born, James Edward DeGeorgis and grandson, Daniel DeGeorgis.
Barbara is survived by two sons, Donald Gregory DeGeorgis Sr. and wife, Donna, Michael David DeGeorgis Sr. and wife, Beth; one daughter, Tammy Jean DeGeorgis Tharpe and husband, Mike; eight grandchildren, Donnie, Dawn, Brian, Jessica, David, Amanda, Michael, Matthew; 13 great-grandchildren, Gregory, Tristen, Ethan, Anson, Emma, Brayden, Grayson, Ruby, Natalie, Kane, Ashley, Hannah, and Anthony.
A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. on Friday, December 20, 2013 at Oakey's East Chapel with Rev. Richard Whited officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home before the service and afterwards at Dawn LaPrad's residence.
