Carlos R. Terry, 48, of Roanoke, VA, passed away on Friday, August 4, 2023. A public viewing will be held Thursday, August 10, 2023, from 1 to 5 p.m. at Hamlar-Curtis Funeral Home & Crematory. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, August 11, 2023, at Loudon Avenue Christian Church. Live Streaming will be available from the Hamlar-Curtis website. Click "View Live Streaming Here" at the top of the screen. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Williams Memorial Park. Carlos is someone I always wanted to be more like, from a very small boy. I noticed Carlos´s cool demeanour and smiling face. His well-dressed, personable nature gave me high hopes for my own future. Knowing that the if I worked hard and gave it my best shot, I could be as cool as Carlos. He would shine his sneakers up, and get ready to go out with his friends. Taught me how to get them "White-white!" He was too clean. I´m gonna miss him, and will always look up to him. Coolest guy I know. Love you Carlos. Thanks for inspiring us to be our best selves.

Carlos is the person that you wanted to be close to. When we both were kids in elementary we play sports, we grew up together and both fell in love with music.
I remember the day back in Middle School we wanyed to play drums so went to pick up our first pair of drum sticks at the music store Ridenhour Music. We talked to the guy at the front desk and he gave us the drum sticks and Carlos looked over and saw this brass trumpet and was like "Wow I wish I could play this!" Then he looked at me and said "Chris, I think you would be great learning how to play this. From that day he was the drummer and I was the trumpeter!
I will miss our times we had, and will always feel his presents when I know he always has my back. Love ya brother. RIP Carlos ✝
