Carolyn Hoglund Obituary
Carolyn Sebelius Hoglund, 76, of Moneta, Virginia, passed away peacefully after a long illness.
Carol was a long-time resident of Winding Waters and very active in her neighborhood, church, and the community at large. She is survived by her husband, Dave; her three children, Rebecca Goebel, Sarah Hoglund-Peariso, and Michael Hoglund; grandchildren, Isabelle Goebel, Erich Goebel, Sophie Peariso, Caroline Hoglund, Katherine Hoglund, and Eliza Hoglund; and extended family.
Many of you will remember Carol for her booming laugh and her willingness to help in any situation. She was a knitter who was always working on projects for others. Carol loved volunteering at Lake Christian Ministries, the American Cancer Society Discovery Shop, the Smith Mountain Lake Women's Club, and the Roanoke Rescue Mission.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Carol's memory to the American Liver Foundation, American Cancer Society or the American Breast Cancer Coalition.
A celebration of Carol's life will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, October 16, 2021, at Trinity Ecumenical Parish, Moneta Virginia. A luncheon will follow the service.
