Catherine Moore Obituary

Catherine Elizabeth Campbell Moore, 78, of Christiansburg, Va., passed away on Thursday, July 9, 2009. She was born on July 9, 1931 in Montgomery County to the late Frank and Fannie Mae Simms Campbell. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Charles G. Moore, a son, Ronald E. Moore, and numerous brothers, and sisters. She was a longtime member of Shaffer Memorial Baptist Church and a former owner and operator of Campbell's Store on Depot Street in Christiansburg, Va. She is survived by a son, Charles G. "Gratten" Moore and wife, Jane of Christiansburg, Va.; granddaughter, Charlene Moore of Christiansburg, Va.; great-granddaughter, Aniyah James of Christiansburg, Va.; only living sibling, a sister, Fannie Mae Turner of Virginia Beach, Virginia; many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; and numerous nieces; nephews; aunts; uncles; cousins; other family, and friends. A funeral service will be conducted on Wednesday, July 15, 2009 at 2 p.m. from Shaffer Memorial Baptist Church with the Rev. Lee Suggs and the Rev. John David Lewis officiating. Interment will follow in the Shaffer Memorial Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 14, 2009 from 6 until 8 p.m. at Shaffer Memorial Baptist Church.
