Catherine "Kate" Fainter Renz, 89, of Buena Vista, Virginia, passed away on November 20, 2021. She was the daughter of the late Alexander Haden Fainter and Mary Smith Fainter of Natural Bridge Station, Virginia.

Kate was preceded in death by her husband, Frederick W. Renz; sons, Jonathan L. Renz and Frederick (Fritz) Renz Jr.; brothers, Haden, Harlan, and Dewey Fainter; and sisters, Mary Vines and Doris Stark.

Surviving are daughter, Mitzi Evans and husband Rick; grandson, Jonathan D. Renz; granddaughter, Jordan E. Renz; sisters, Sophie Camden, Caroline Claytor, and Joyce Hambrick.

Kate enjoyed cooking, watching ball games, gardening, and loved her family. Kate will be dearly missed by family and friends.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, November 24, 2021, at Green Hill Cemetery, Buena Vista. Arrangements are being handled by Bolling, Grose, & Lotts Funeral Home and Cremation Services.

Mitzi so very sorry to learn of your mom´s passing. She was a very sweet lady and I remember her well. She and Freddie and Maynard & Betty (my sister) were always together when they were young and I remember you and your brother when you were little. Hold on to the good memories they will help hold her close. So very sorry. God bless all of you.

Mitzi I´m so sorry for your loss. Scott and I both loved your mom. She would always give Scott his pickles and pickled beets to me. She holds a very special place in our hearts. Mitzi hold on to all those "special" memories! Our deepest sympathy love Scott and Mitzi
