Charles R. "Randy" Cook, 56, of Salem, Va., went to be with our Lord on Tuesday, December 12, 2023.
Randy was born in Roanoke, Va., on July 9, 1967, to Charles Edward and Kathleen Fugate Cook. He was happily married to Melody Ann Kelley on April 10, 2009.
Randy attended Wasena Elementary, James Madison Jr. High, Patrich Henry High, and Virginia Western Community College. He worked as an operator at the Salem, VA water treatment plant from 2009 through 2020. Randy was an avid hiker and took great care of his dog, Gypsy.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Melody Ann Kelley Cook; his mother, Kathleen Fugate Cook; and his father, Charles Edward Cook. Randy is survived by his brother, James Edward Cook.
Visitation will be held at 1 p.m. followed by a service at 2 p.m. on Monday, December 18, 2023, at Oakey's South Chapel, 4257 Brambleton Avenue, Roanoke, VA 24018. Memorials may be given to the Alzheimer's Association. Condolences may be made at www.Oakeys.com.

I knew Randy growing up on Kerns Avenue and he was always so much fun. Can still see his smiling face! We will miss him.
