Charlotte BARNETT Obituary

Charlotte Barnes Barnett, 81, of Blacksburg, died on February 27, 2013. She was born to the late Floyd and Thelma Barnes on April 11, 1931, in Fayette County, Iowa. Charlotte grew up in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and was a graduate of Coe College. She is survived by her husband, Lewis Brinkley Barnett; children, Elizabeth Ann (Mark) Notess, of Bloomington, Ind., William Kinne (Teresa) Barnett, of Bloomington, Ind., Charles Lewis (Michele), of Gambrills, Md., and Catherine Grace (Jon Meyers), of Webster Groves, Mo.; grandchildren, Hannah (Jon Hiskes), Brian (Adrienne), and Benjamin Notess, Nathan, Tyler, Emma, and Tessa Barnett, Abigail and Olivia Barnett, and Samuel and Jackson Meyers; great-grandchildren, Asher and Silas Notess and Samuel Hiskes; and sister, Bernadine Ester Farrow, of Shawnee, Kan.
Charlotte was retired from the Wood Science and Forest Products department at Virginia Tech. She loved reading, gardening, and cross stitching.
There will be a viewing Friday, March 1, 2013, from 5 to 8 p.m. and a service Saturday, March 2, 2013, at 3 p.m. Both services will be at the McCoy Funeral Home in Blacksburg.
