My cousin was Lt. Rob Seidel III, West Point Class of 2004. He was KIA in Baghdad, Iraq, on 18 May 2006.

I found Chase's story online through social media and read a tribute to him written for Bleacher Report. So many characteristics that described Chase seemed so similar to Rob. His willingness to lead and serve really stood out. West Point only takes the best.

Although I do not know the family personally, I would like to extend my truest condolences from myself and on behalf of the Seidel family. Chase's sacrifice will NOT go unnoticed by those for whom he gave his last full measure. May his loved ones find peace some day.

Thank you for your service, Chase. Rest In Peace, No. 17.

When I think back to high school my thoughts immediately go back to Friday night football games and cheering on our Wildcats. And when you think about Wildcate football during that time you think Chase Prasnicki. Chase was our hometown hero on the football field and then went on to be not only our hometown hero overseas but a hero for everyone in America. Thank you for your service and sacrifice to keep us safe. Freedom is not free and we thank you sir.

Chase is an exemplar of all that is good and right in this country and he reflected great credit upon not only himself but especially his parents for raising such a young man. Words cannot express how saddened we are to hear about Chase. Our prayers are with all of you during this difficult time. Memories of him are special and we thank you for raising such a remarkable young man. It was only a couple of weeks ago we sat with David (our nephew) and talked about Chase. He beamed as he spoke about his son and how proud he was of him. You could just feel the deep love he has for his children! Chase gave his life for our freedom, and we are so grateful and proud of him for that. God Bless all of you.

Words can never express the shock and sadness I felt when I heard of Chase's going home. I played against Chase in high school, and remember him as an great athlete. But more than that, Chase was an amazing person and man who always smiled, and always had something encouraging to say. I remember talking to him after years of not seeing him, he was busy with football and class at West Point and still took time when he could to talk and catch up. When he found out that I had been in the military since we last talked, he told me that he couldn't wait to be able to lead soldiers and asked me for advice. I wish I could have served under him. It was an honor to have known Chase, and I know that my life was vastly improved by his presence. Though his time on earth was short, I believe it is clear the number of lives that he touched and what he accomplished in that time. To the family, rest assured that Chase rests in the loving embrace of Jesus Christ, and one day we will see him again, smile and all. Chase, I miss you, and with all that I am I will never let your sacrifice be forgotten. Be thou at peace brother, see you on the other side. Hooah!

My deepest condolences go out to the Prasnicki family as well. At this terrible time, may you and all who know you and knew Chase be blanketed with the love of our Lord, Jesus Christ.
