Clifford Crain Obituary

Clifford Charles Crain Jr.

May 8, 1942 - April 5, 2025

Clifford Charles Crain Jr. passed away at home surrounded by his family on Saturday, April 5, 2025. Cliff was the third of five children born to Clifford and Alice Crain. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Joyce and June; brother, Bill; and eldest son, Clifford Crain III.

Cliff is survived by his loving family: wife of 42 years, Christine; sons, Joe, Christopher (Anne), Avery (Harley), and Billy (Amy); daughter, Ashley (Rob); granddaughters, Sarah, Anna and Sage; only grandson and namesake, Haden; and his favorite little man, Lachlan.

For over 50 years Cliff was a licensed electrician, plumber and contractor. Cliff was devoted to his family. He was never happier than when his family was together. Cliff was a man of strong faith. He looked at life as the beginning, not the end.

Per Cliff's request, there will be no services.

Anyone wishing to honor his memory may donate to the American Lung Association, 55 W. Wacker Drive, Suite 1150, Chicago, IL 60601.

The family is so thankful for the amazing care extended by Dr. Vishal Patel and Dr. Cirino-Marcono.

I first met him when I worked at Noland and then at CMC supply. I immediately knew he was a fine man when I learned he raised four sons, the youngest being a few months old, all by himself and then later helped raised a daughter too. All were the apples of his eye and then he remarried and she was his world too. His eyes twinkled when he talked about her. He talked about how he taught his boys how to do the same things he knew, life, house building ... all they would need know to be as fine a man as he was. I am sure he was thrilled when the grandkids came along too...teaching them too. Blessings and prayers to his family.
