Curtis Ludwick Finch, 87, of Forest, Virginia, passed away on May 12, 2023. Born in Roanoke, Virginia, on January 13, 1936, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 60 years, Marlene.

In life Curtis was fond of fixing things and inventing new ways to solve problems. He worked in mechanical engineering and nuclear engineering in the U.S., Spain and South Korea and had patents in his name related to his work in nuclear engineering. He loved his family and many friends, traveling, a competitive game of bridge and following the stock market.

Curtis leaves behind his daughters, Carol Ells and Annette Sisson; son, Curtis Finch II; seven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; brothers, Jerry Finch and David Finch; and a sister, Gladys Paulian.

The family would like to thank the staff at Heritage Green, Home Instead, Gentle Shepherd Hospice and in particular David Case and the family of Concetta Barksdale for taking good care of Curtis over the past two years.

A celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m., September 22, 2023, at Peakland United Methodist Church, 4434 Boonsboro Rd., Lynchburg, VA 24503.
