Donald Nelson Dalton

Donald Nelson Dalton, 73, of Claytor Lake, Dublin, died early Monday morning, March 7, 2011, at his residence. He was born May 16, 1937, in Newbern and was the son of the late Minnie Hazel Lyons Dalton and Archie Harless Dalton. He was a retired banker with Suntrust Bank, was a member of the First Christian Church (DOC) Radford, and was a Veteran of the National Guard. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, John Ed Dalton. He is survived by his wife, Nancy Gray Dalton; a son, Ronald Nelson Dalton, of Orlando, Fla.; two daughters, Angela D. Collins, of Myrtle Beach, S.C., and Annette D. Holcombe, of Timmonsville, S.C.; a sister, Mrs. Duane "Mary Sue" Pace, of Pulaski. Also survived by six grandchildren, Lauren Dalton, Kendall Dalton, Mackenzie Collins, Catherine Collins, Jake Holcombe, and Max Holcombe; and several nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held Thursday, March 10, 2011, at 7 p.m. at the First Christian Church (DOC) in Radford, with the Rev. Gina Rhea officiating. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 5 until 7 p.m. at the church.
