Dorothy Ann "Dot" Dula Cox of Vinton, Va., passed away on Saturday, October 9, 2021.
She was born in Maben, West Virginia, on August 15, 1929, to the late James R. and Sadie Brookshire Dula. She was also preceded in death by her loving husband of 51 years, Elveston B. "E.B." Cox; four brothers, James E., William E., Frank R., and John G.; and sister, Edith Dula Crawford.
She is survived by one son, Craig B. Cox and wife, Lesley, of Buchanan, Va., and several nieces and nephews.
Dot graduated from Pearisburg High School and received an Associates in Commerce Degree from Concord College. She was the first Medical Record Librarian at Carilion Giles Memorial Hospital, Pearisburg, Va., and retired from Lewis-Gail Hospital, Salem, Va.
Services will be held at 12 noon on Monday, October 18, 2021, at Oakey's Vinton Chapel with Paul Houston officiating. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until the 12 noon service time on Monday at the funeral home.

Craig, I am so sorry about your Mother. Dot and I worked at Lewis-Gale Hospital for many years together. She was working there in 1967 when I went there and we worked together till she retired. She would give me rides to work when the weather was bad and
I was afraid to drive. She was such a good friend. Craig, I know it is hard losing your Mother. You are in my prayers. Shirley Hackney

Your parents were our neighbors in Vinton, VA when we were newly weds in 1986. We loved them both and are sad to read of Dot's recent death. Peace to you at this time. Mary and Michael Czysz

Craig and family-
So sorry to learn of Dot's passing. My mom was at Park Oak Grove for about a year and a half, and I would see Dot almost every time I visited. Always loved talking with her. And, the Reynolds' family always sat near you all at Thrasher. We know this is a very sad time for you all. Thoughts and prayers are with you. May great memories of your mom give you peace. Take care.
