Edward Agee Obituary

Mr. Edward (Eddie) Carlton Agee, of Callaway and Atlanta, Georgia, known for his unconditional love and caretaking, passed away on November 16, 2009 at the age of 60. He was born April 1, 1949 to Dock and Eva Agee in Franklin County, Virginia. He is survived by his wife, Kathy Agee; and his sons, Stein, Corey and Logan Agee. He is survived by his mother, Eva Agee; brother and sister-in-law, Dan and Carolyn Agee; sister and brother-in-law, Arlet and Edward Greer; and brother, Jim Rendy Agee. He is survived by his mother-in-law, Jeanne Kent; sister-in-law and her husband, Linda and Gerald Saucerman; brother-in-law and wife, Robert and Reta Kent; and sister-in-law, Leslie Kent. He is also survived by numerous uncles, aunts, cousins, nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by his father, Dock Agee and father-in-law, Robert Page Kent.
He grew up in Callaway, Virginia serving a very family oriented life and farming with numerous family and relatives. Upon graduating from high school, he attended East Tennessee State University obtaining a degree in Accounting. Upon graduation from East Tennessee State University, he joined Price Waterhouse, where he quickly excelled in his accounting and audit role at the firm. In 1979, he left Price Waterhouse to assist in the organization of Ward & Company, a southeast regional firm. In 1984, he and the partners at Ward & Company merged their practice into Touch Ross & Company. He subsequently left Touch Ross & Company to join Jack Fisher in the formation of Agee Fisher & Co., now AgeeFisherBarrett, LLC. His love for his work in the accounting and business world and with his clients who were also his best friends never waned over the years. In addition to his dedication and interests in accounting and servicing all his clients over they years, he was an avid boater and yachtsman, where he greatly enjoyed the love for this pastime with his family, taking many trips up and down the East Coast. His other true love was the tracing of his family genealogy and family history and educating the rest of his family and friends of all his knowledge he had learned over the years. This family knowledge will be greatly missed but has also been left in good hands with his sons and family. He is truly a wonderful, admired and loved person that will be missed by all the persons that he touched throughout his life.

We will surely miss our leader, mentor and friend. Kathy, Stein, Corey and Logan, I know that our loss can never compare to yours - but we miss him so much! We pray everyday for you to be at peace and to know that one day, you will be reunited with your loved one. He'll be easy to find - he will be sitting at the helm of the biggest, shiniest yacht, ready to go for a run.

Oh how we will miss that beautiful smile and wonderful wit. Eddie was such a lover - lover of his family and life. He always gave me a kiss everytime I ever saw him. Memories will be our comfort as I am sure they will be for you all - Jackie's memories of growing up with Eddie, memories of school days, double dating, all our mischief, our vists to your home, the ball game and Six Flags (my children still love those memories) and the trips Jackie made to the boat. Children remember the lessons he taught you, Cathy remember his love and devotion to you, brothers & sister and Mom remember his love for you and his "home" in Callaway. His heart will always be there. Now we glory in the fact that he is walking on streets of gold with the cares of this world gone forever. Love to you all.
