Edward Mason Obituary

Edward Jackson Mason, 94, of Roanoke, Va., passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 29, 2009, with his family by his side. He was preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, Blanche Jamison Mason; his parents, Wade Hampton Mason and Etta (Boone) Mason; four brothers, Walter Mason, Thomas Mason, Daniel Mason, and Bob Mason; and two sisters, Annie Ronk arid Pauline Flora. He is survived by one daughter, Charlotte Mason and husband, Larry MacDonald; and one son, Wade "Buddy" Mason; and numerous devoted nieces and nephews. He was an active member of Patterson Memorial Grace Brethren Church. The family wishes to thank the staff of Carrington Place and Good Samaritan Hospice for their devoted care and support. Funeral services will be conducted at Oakey's North Chapel at noon on Monday, November 2, 2009, by the Rev. Donald Eshelman and Elder Robert Peters. Interment will follow in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 2728 Colonial Avenue, Roanoke, Va. 24015. The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, November 1, 2009, at Oakey's North Chapel, 540-362-1237.
