Eleanor MacLachlan Obituary

Eleanor Sarah MacLachlan, 94, of Bassett, Va., and formerly of Connecticut, passed away on Monday, December 7, 2009. She was born on January 2, 1915, a daughter of the late Robert and Charlotte Pentland Porterfield. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Douglas MacLachlan. Surviving are children, Doris Cole and husband, Gene, of Bassett, Va., Richard MacLachlan and wife, Betty, Judy McKecknie and husband, Bruce, Lois Pepin, all of Connecticut, and Robert MacLachlan and wife, Beverly, of Vermont; 18 grandchildren; 10 greatgrandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews and other family members. Memorial services will be held at a later date in Connecticut. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or a charity of choice.
