Ellett Sloane Obituary
Surviving are his son, Nicholas "Nick" Sloane; mother, Peggy M. Sloane; brothers and sister-in-law, Daniel E. Sloane and wife, Janet, and Joel M. Sloane; sisters, Holly R. Sloane and Cyndi Sloane Croft; nephews, Zac Croft and Isaac Sloane; niece, Emma Sloane; and great-niece Laura Croft.
A special thank you to Cheryl Hudson, Shawn Long, and all of Ellett's friends for their many acts of kindness, love and support during his illness.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the American Cancer Society, 2840 Electric Rd., Roanoke, VA 24018.
A Celebration of Life will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Friday, March 9, 2012, at Southview United Methodist Church by Pastor Larry Edmonds. The family will receive friends following the service. Arrangements by Simpson Funeral Home and Crematory, 540-366-0707.

Condolences from my family to yours. I am sorry for this loss in your family. I graduated from Northside with Ellett, and though we never kept in touch I will always remember his great sense of humor touched everyone he knew.

I am deeply saddened to hear of Ellett's passing. I have many happy memories of him laughing, riding his Harley,and listening to him play his guitar. Ellett was a close friend some years back, and has always remained close in my thoughts and heart. I extend my deepest sympathy to his family and friends.
