Frances Elizabeth Jones Goins

Frances Elizabeth Jones Goins, 92, of Roanoke, Va., went to be with her Lord on Friday, October 30, 2009. Frances was a long time member of the Bramwell Methodist Church, Bramwell, W.Va. She was retired from the Mercer County School system with many years of service at the Bramwell Schools. Mrs. Goins made her home with her daughter, Ellen Bailey, in Roanoke, Va. She is formerly from Freeman, W.Va. Mrs. Goins was preceded in death by her parents, Whitlow Reed and Annie Sue Jones; three sisters, Lucille Jones, Ruby Jones and Margaret Barbour; brothers, Don Jones and Marvin "Jack" Jones; a son-inlaw, Jerry Dean Bailey; and daughter-in-law, Fay Brown Goins. Survivors include her sister, Mildred "Dink" Lambert; and sister-in-law, Rose Connor Jones; daughter, Ellen Bailey and sons, Rodney (Donita) Goins, Mark "Buck" Goins, Steve (Susan) Goins, and Jack Richard (Raye) Goins; 15 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren; and special caregivers, the doctors and nurses on floors 8 & 10 South at Roanoke Memorial Hospital for their care and support of our beloved "Granny". A service to celebrate her life will be held Tuesday, November 3, 2009, 11 a.m. at the Woodlawn Mausoleum in Bluewell, W.Va. The Rev. Ray Amos, First United Methodist Church, Bluefield, Va., will officiate. Visitation will be held at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home, Bluewell, W.Va., on Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. Flowers are welcomed or donations can be made to your church or favorite charity.
