Gary Wayne Flinchum

1959 - 2007

Gary Wayne Flinchum went to be with the Lord on September 7, 2007. He was born on January 18, 1959 in Radford. He was predeceased by his loving father, Garel Wayne Flinchum and his grandmother, Willie Erma Flinchum. He is survived by his mother, Mary Elizabeth Flinchum. He is also survived by a loving wife of 28 years, Debra Flinchum; two children, Roger Flinchum and girlfriend, Vicki of Vinton and Jessica Flinchum of Roanoke and an adopted son, Kevin Martin and family, of Roanoke. He is also survived by three grandchildren, Eric Wayne, Sara Elizabeth and Jonathan Allen; five brothers, Ricky Flinchum and wife, Angie of Blue Ridge, Jackie Flinchum and wife, Sandi of Blue Ridge, Matthew Nunn of Vinton, Danny Flinchum of Vinton and Dennis Flinchum of Vinton and two sisters, Christine Brooks of Blue Ridge and husband, Joe and Kitty Newton of Roanoke. He will be sadly missed by everyone. He was loved by all who knew him. He was a long standing employee of 29 years at General Shale Brick. The family will receive friends at Oakey's Vinton Chapel on Sunday, September 9, 2007, from 6 to 9 p.m. Another viewing will follow on Monday, September 10, 2007 from 12 to 1 p.m., at Oakey's Vinton Chapel. The service will be held at 1 p.m., Monday, at Oakey's Vinton Chapel. A graveside service will follow in Old Dominion Memorial Gardens on Monday, September 10, 2007.
