Goldie Bryant Obituary

Goldie Clark Bryant

November 25, 1928 - November 21, 2025

Goldie Clark Bryant, 96, of Henry, VA, passed away on November 21, 2025 in her home. She was born in Patrick County on November 25, 1928 to the late Elder Flem Lee Clark and the late Malissa Parker Clark.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Hugh Douglas Bryant; her infant son, Phillip Douglas Bryant; sister, Rachel Manuel; and brother, elder Paul Clark (Rachel).

Survived by: her sons, John Fayette Bryant (Vickie) and Hugh Dee Bryant (Joanie); her daughters, Betty Bryant Payne (Martin) and Gay Lynne Peacock; her grandchildren, Tyler Peacock (Amanda), Carley Peacock Wright (Tavis), Matthew Bryant (Allison), Ashton Bryant, Allyson Bryant, Avery Bryant, Holden Bryant; her great grandchildren, Cameron Peacock, Peyton Peacock, and Hayden Wright. Survived by sister, Mary Merciez.

Goldie was a caregiver to not only her children and grandchildren, but to countless others in her community, from babysitting to nursing the elderly. Goldie will continue to give back to others in death, as she has decided to donate her body to scientific studies or other research purposes as needed by Virginia State Anatomical Program.

The family gives special thanks to Goldie's sister Mary for her sacrifice and for allowing us to keep her at home. They would also like to give thanks to Burwell's Private Care and all of her caregivers and to Mountain Valley Palliative and Hospice Team for the exceptional end-of-life care provided.
