Gracie Jean Williamson Meador Dooley

Gracie Jean Williamson Meador Dooley, 94, of Goode, Va., died on Wednesday, August 4, 2010, at Oakwood Manor Nursing Home. She was born on May 30, 1916, in Bedford, Va., a daughter of the late Harry Cofer Williamson and Lucy Jane Mitchell Williamson. In addition to her parents, Gracie is preceded in death by her husbands, William Edward Meador and John Clyde Dooley; two sisters, Virgie Dooley and Carlotta Mays; three brothers, James Williamson, Kenneth Williamson and Aubrey Williamson; three greatgrandchildren; and two greatgreat-grandchildren. Gracie is survived by two daughters, Shirley McBearye and Linda Garraghty Johnson; two sons, Jerry Meador and wife, Judy, and Ronnie Meador and wife, Pamela; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; nine great great grandchildren; two stepgreat-grandchildren; one brother, Maynard Williamson and wife, Ruby; one sister, June Thomas and husband, Fred; and a special friend, Joe Gaddy. A celebration of Gracie's life will be conducted 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 7, 2010, at Tharp Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Joe Flowers officiating. Burial will follow in Virginia Memorial Park.
