July 11, 1935 - November 27, 2025
Harriet Jane Worley Overstreet, 90, of Vinton, VA, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 27, 2025.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George Tilton and Viola Dalton Worley; husband, Siebert R. "Honk" Overstreet; and sisters, Clarice Foutz Belcher and Jeanette Tomlinson.
She is survived by her daughter, Kelly O. Hall (Monty); grandson, Dalton M. Hall (Caitlyn); and several nieces and nephews.
Harriet was born in Roanoke, VA, and was a lifelong resident of Vinton, VA. She was a lifelong member of Thrasher United Methodist Church and Pedigo Bible Class. Harriet loved little children and had worked for Roanoke County Public Schools for 25 years before retiring.
The family would like to express special thanks to all the Special Angels at Carrington Place for their love and care given to her over the last nine years, along with the sweet Gentiva Hospice nurses.
There will be a visitation held on Thursday, December 4, 2025, from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Thrasher United Methodist Church at 707 E. Washington Ave., Vinton, VA 24179, followed by a funeral service at 12 p.m. with the Rev. John Hemming officiating. Burial will follow at Mountain View Cemetery at 1401 Mountain View Road, Vinton, VA 24179.
In lieu of flowers, a love gift can be made to Thrasher United Methodist Preschool, 707 East Washington Ave., Vinton, VA 24179. Condolences may be shared with her family by visiting www.Oakeys.com.
