Idamae "Idie" grew up in Westfield, N.J., and graduated from high school in 1936. In 1940 she graduated from Gettsburg College where she met her husband. Her loving devotion and dedication as a mother allowed her children to realize their dreams.
Family and friends loved her for her abundance of kindness, generosity, and care she gave to them. Throughout her whole life, she was a total inspiration in her desire to be independent and in her patience to accept help in her later years as she needed it. We extend our appreciation to those who cared for her in her later years.
Family members welcome friends to join them for a celebration of her life and reception at 2 p.m. on Saturday, January 19, 2013, in the Lapsley Chapel of First Presbyterian Church, 2101 South Jefferson Street, Roanoke, VA 24014-0538,
