James M. Griffin

James M. (Jimmy) Griffin, 67, of Woodlawn, Va., passed away on Sunday, June 20, 2010, at Duke University Hospital. Mr. Griffin was preceded in death by his mother, Elsie Gaynell Griffin. He is survived by his wife, Betty Jo King Griffin, of the home; son and daughter-inlaw, Mike and Deana Griffin, of Wytheville; father and stepmother, Elmer and Elsie Griffin, of Hillsville; brother and sister-in-law, Kenny and Mary Jane Griffin, of Galax; grandchildren, Drew Griffin and Ashley Denae Griffin, both of Wytheville; and sisters-inlaw and spouses, Nancy Morris, of Hillsville, and Barbara and Bill Slate, of Galax. Mr. Griffin retired from R.A.A.P. after 39 years of service. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. on Wednesday, June 23, 2010 at VaughanGuynn-McGrady Chapel with Pastor Titus Anderson officiating. Burial will follow in the Woodlawn Cemetery.
