James Lewis Hicks Sr. was born on May 18, 1940 to Edmond Kenneth and Anna Ottieway Hicks in Roanoke, Virginia. A public viewing will be held on Friday, January 28, 2022, from 1 until 5 p.m. at Hamlar-Curtis Funeral Home & Crematory. The funeral service will be held at 12 p.m., on Saturday, January 29, 2022, at Sweet Union Baptist Church. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Williams Memorial Park. Condolences may be sent to Hamlar-Curtis.com

When I worked at the Roanoke Sheriff Office and would take my vehicle to the garage Mr. Hicks always had a smile on his face and kept me laughing. May your many memories offer you comfort.
