James A. (Bootie) Wheeler, 82, of Chamblissburg, passed away January 25, 2012. He was preceded in death by his parents, Warner H. Wheeler and Minnie Zola Wheeler; and his wife of 50 years, Joyce T. Wheeler. Bootie worked for C.C. Hancock, Russell Transfer, and Jones Motor Lines, and was a member of Local Teamster's Union #171. Survivors are children, Bonnie (Jim) Whitney, Dona Wheeler, Jerry (Delores) Wheeler, Steven (Amanda) Wheeler and Linda Wheeler; sisters, Dorothy Ragland and Faye (Vincent) Graham; brothers, Jack (Lynwood) (Juanita) Wheeler, Alfred (A.J.)(Nancy) Wheeler, Kenneth (Arlene) Wheeler, and D. Joe (Shirley) Wheeler; four grandsons; four granddaughters; and numerous great-grandchildren. Special thanks to Dr. Robert Keeley, the staff at Carilion and special friend,Theresa Crigger. Funeral Services will be conducted at noon on Saturday, January 28, 2012, at Oakey's Vinton Chapel, with Pastor Chris Walker officiating. Burial will follow in Mountain View Cemetery.
