Eventhough I only met you once, and it was memorable, Dona is my sister and I will take care of her in your absence. I know how much she loves you and she will miss the true sense of family that you represented in her life. Rest in peace dear soul.

I wish to thank so many who have loved our Dad, his long time house cleaner, neighbors among others who came by or called as he recuperated after his heroic survival in mid august after 4 days outside alone, in thunderstorms and all. The out pouring of love was for all intents and purposes lifting him up, but it was he who lifted so many. He has always been so dear, our connection so strong, as he questioned if I would be ok without him, I told him, he would always be with me, always, and he had taught me very well.
With brothers Jerry and Steven, that last night, for 12 hours, we loved him through it, and witnessed his surrender, though he resisted for quite a while, his eyes kept going to the ceiling, no doubt witnessing his angels above. It was the most special 12 hours as we played hymns for him, rubbed him and told him how good a job he had done and he could now relax and walk with God in fields of gold. He was an amazing man, and I rejoice that he is a peace, finally.

Dad I will forever be your Punkin'

Dear Wheeler family,
We are so sorry about your Dad. Although we have not seen each other in years, we have many happy memories of times spent with your grandparents (Cora and Grayson Thomasson) at church and visiting our house in Goodview. Gary has many fond memories of days when you were neighbors on Maple Street in Vinton. Please know that you are all in our many thoughts and prayers. May God give you the comfort only He can give and His peace that passes understanding.
