Joe Clark Craighead

January 28, 2021

Joe Clark Craighead of Bedford, Virginia, became our guardian angel on Thursday, January 28, 2021 at Lynchburg General Hospital due to complications from COVID-19.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Madeleine and Paul W. Craighead; brother, Jim Craighead; and brothers-in-law, John Harkader and Steve Mason.

In addition to Linda, Joe is survived by his children, Joseph Craighead and Amy Craighead Butts (David); stepchildren, Justin Boyd, Beth Boyd Bell, and Jennifer Boyd; grandchildren, Trevor, Leah and Lynsey Butts, Breanna and Zoe Boyd, and Jaccob and Braden Bell; great-granddaughter, Ashlynn; sisters, Judy Mason and Joan Harkrader; and his nephews, nieces, special aunts, uncles, neighbors and good friends.

The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. on Friday, February 5, 2021, at Oakey's Roanoke Chapel – Downtown. A Memorial Service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, February 6, 2021, also at Oakey's Roanoke Chapel. Joe's final resting place will be with his parents at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. We are so sorry for your loss. Joe was a very special person in our lives. He was more than a nephew. He was more like a brother. May God bless you all and strengthen you all in this time. We will be praying for you all. Love you all.
