April 27, 1943 - October 10, 2024

John Anthony Rhodes, age 81, of 6357 Scruggs Road, Moneta, Virginia died on Thursday, October 10, 2024 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital in Roanoke.

John was born on April 27, 1943 in Roanoke to the late John Thomas and Lucille Elizabeth Caldwell Rhodes. He was an investigator for State Farm Insurance.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Loreen Elizabeth Rhodes and a brother, Cedric Richard Rhodes.

He is survived by his wife, Eleanor Marie Harman Rhodes of Moneta; a daughter, Tamara Harvie and husband Edwin of Mason Neck; a sister, Patsy Haymaker of Clifton Forge; two grandchildren, Carah Harvie and Lewis Harvie; as well a number of nieces and nephews.

In keeping with his wishes, his body has been cremated.

There will be no services.
