John Vincent Wheeler

John Vincent Wheeler, 80, of Bedford, Va., passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, January 26, 2010. He was born on Tuesday, February 5, 1929, in Narrows, a son of the late Everett Wheeler and Alta Hott Wheeler. He was a member of Bedford Christian Church. He leaves to mourn and miss him, his loving and devoted wife of 57 years, Jean Bailey Wheeler, of Bedford; his three children, Connie W. Kelton and husband, Bill, of Danville, Kay W. Walters and Richard Cubala, of Greer, S.C., and son, John E. Wheeler and wife, Terri, of Bedford; two grandchildren, Rebecca Walters and Howard Walters IV, of Raleigh, N.C.; and a brother, Kendall W. Wheeler and wife, Mae, of Pearisburg. The family would like to give special thanks to all of his church family at Bedford Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and to the staff of Carilion Hospice of Bedford. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to Bedford Christian Church Building Fund, 1928 Moneta Road, Bedford, Va. 24523 or to Carilion Hospice of Bedford, P.O. Box 688, Bedford, Va. 24253. A Memorial Service will be held 1 p.m. on Saturday, January 30, 2010, at Bedford Christian Church with the Rev. William H. Moore officiating.
