Leroy "Biff" Thompson
Leroy (Biff) Thompson, 64, of Roanoke, Va., went to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 5, 2010. Leroy was preceded in death by his parents, Willie E. and Rena M. Thompson; and brother, William Thompson. Survivors include his wife, Delores Thompson; stepdaughter, Tawanda (Anthony) Davis; grandchildren, Isiah, Jaleel and Kavontaye Davis; sisters, Hilda Preston and Carolyn (Henry) Ferrell; sister-in-law, Anita (Alex) Phifer; and brother-in-law, Gary (Annie) Bannister. Leroy had many family members and friends that he loved, too many to list. Funeral Services will be held 1 p.m. on Saturday, September 11, 2010, at Greater Mt. Zion Baptist Church with the Dr. Cedric Malone officiating and Dr. John Washington eulogist. The family will assemble at 1210 Lafayette Blvd. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. on Friday, September 10, 2010, at Hamlar-Curtis Funeral Home. I am so sorry to hear about Biff's passing. I had just seen him at Booker T. Kings funeral a few weeks ago. Oh! how we carried on about how good God is. He would always, I mean always ask me about my brother Buddy, he liked him alot; before he would even speak to me he would holla out where's Buddy? That's how I came too know Biff through my brother and then seeing him at the Faith & Hope Church when I would visit. He was a good man. I am going to miss him; because I always enjoyed the fellowship when me ran into each other; sharing the Good New's of Jesus.
