Mark Saunders Winstead

January 18, 1974 - November 20, 2024

Mark Saunders Winstead, of Kernersville, North Carolina went to be with his Lord on November 20, 2024, after a hard-fought battle with cancer.

He served his community as a volunteer EMT, as a member of the military, and as an emergency room nurse providing comfort during the COVID pandemic. He was happiest when helping others and being outdoors.

Mark is survived by his wife, Michelle McKenney; sons, Aiden Winstead and Andrew Winstead; mother, Eve Wirt (Larry); father, Richard Winstead (Alicia); brother, Rich Winstead (Catherine); sister, Christine Winstead; stepsister, Melissa Davis (Jared); and aunts, uncles, and many cousins, nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his stepbrother, Joseph Wirt.

A Memorial Service will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 4, 2025 at the Pierce-Jefferson Funeral Services Kernersville Chapel.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society.
