I baked your birthday cake again this year as I have done every year since I've have known you, and had it with Marie and Laura. It's so sad you aren't here to enjoy it like you did every year. I know you and Brother are having a great time in Heaven this year for your Birthday!

It's going to be extra hard this Thanksgiving and Christmas with both of you gone. We love and miss you BOTH so much!

Love,

A heartfelt poem from me to my true friend Mikey on your first year in heaven.

THE TRUE FRIEND

The true friend
Is always there
Is always faithful
Is always supportive

The true friend
Loves unconditionally
Forgives easily
Forgets every wrong

The ture friend
Cries over you
Cries for you
Cries with you

The true friend
Never gives up
Never stops being true
Never fades away

The true friend
Is someone you turn to
Is someone you confide in
Is someone who stands by you

The true friend
Encourages you
Lifts your spirits
Makes you smile

My true friend Mikey
I will treasure forever

Mike,

Can't believe it's been a year since you went to be with the Great Physician to be healed of cancer. THANK GOD you are in no more pain! You left us way too soon, but how could we wish you back with us to suffer the way you did at the end. Words cannot express how much we miss you, we are so thankful for having you in our lives for as long as we did. There is not a day that goes by that we don't think of you and all the good times we shared together! We have so many good memories, and those memories will last forever.

We just had corn on the cob with Marie and Laura (out of Bob's garden) and in his blessing before we ate he remember how you loved and waited for the first corn to come in, I ate one for you... actually I ate three lol. Remember you and I (Sis not Bob) use to have a contest on who could eat the most corn I tried but...you always won! Hope you know how much we Love and Miss you. You are gone but will never be forgotten.....

Love,
Your Brother-in-law and best friend Bob and Sister-in-law Sadie (Sis)

Merry Christmas Mikey!

This was your first Christmas in heaven and your favorite time of year. I'm sure everyone in heaven was just thrilled with your decorations.
I think of you often and miss the good times we shared, as no one has ever made me laugh and enjoy life like you. You are truely one of a kind.
I will pray to God to watch over Marie and Laura and bless them with his grace.
Until we meet again my dear friend.
I love you.

"Merry Christmas Mike" It was our first Christmas without you and it was really hard with out you here. You always enjoyed this time of year. You were just like a little kid, couldn't wait to open your presents. We miss you so much but are so thankful that you are not suffering anymore. Nothing, especially Christmas, will ever be the same without you. We shall cherish those precious memories, of the days when you were here. We're thankful for the times we shared and all the pictures we took for those memories and pictures (we have some great ones) they are a comfort now for us. We go to your grave and wish you could come home and be with us. No words could ever express how much we love and miss you. A place is vacant here on earth in which never can be filled but we know we will see you again in Heaven some day. You'll be forever in our hearts & thoughts!
Love,
Your Brother-in-law Bob and
Sister-in-law Sadie (Sis) that's what you called me which I am so proud of. The feeling was mutual!

Dearest Brother,

What can i say about you? you loved life and everyone in your life. You were so passionate about everything you ever did and this life will never be the same without you. You were someone that everyone wanted to know--you made an impression on everyone you ever met. You were always so much fun and always the life of the party. some of my fondest memories from when I was little were the vacations when just you and I went with Mom and Dad to florida or to the Smokey Mountatins. We always had a blast.

Although as we got older we didn't get to spend as much time together, I always knew you loved me and that you would be there for me whenever I needed you. Chritmas will be here soon and it just won't be the same without you. With you and Linda both gone now, life has lost some of its joy. You will be forever missed and I have a hole in my heart that belongs only to you.

I'm sure the souls in heaven are probably getting tired of hearing you sing "I Ain't Nothing But A Hound Dog" by now, so give it a rest already, will ya? :o)

Save me a seat beyond the Pearly Gates, okay? I will see you again someday.

With loads of love and a heavy and memory filled heart,

Your sister,
Cindy

Be Still

Be still like the grass on a melancholy summer day
Be still like desert shrub.

Be calm and you will hear your loved one speak, in the stillness, in the calm, their love resounds.

If you are still this promise I make, you will hear the voice of your loved one helping you along your way.

November 13, 2008

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."

It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.

God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

Although, I did not know you personally my heart goes out to you. I am Tim Thornhill's sister. My Sister-in-law, Debbie, has mentioned your husband/father Mike to me on many occasions. She told me about the wonderful man he was and how special you are to them as their neighbor.

I pray you gain comfort as each new day begins.

A Better Place

He’s in a better place right now
Than he’s ever been before;
All pain is gone; he’s now at rest;
Nothing troubles him anymore.

It’s we who feel the burden of
Our sadness and our grief;.
We have to cry, to mourn our loss,
Before we get relief.

We know we’ll reconnect with him
At the end of each life’s road;
We’ll see his cherished face again
When we release our earthly load.

The residents of our street have lost a wonderful scholar for what a neighbor should be. He was a kind and courteous man who always threw up a hand, spoke when noticed and opened his heart and home to all those he was friends with, especially at Christmas time. In times of sadness and despair, remember the good times and reflect on the joy he brought to your lives, as well as to those in which he entered through friendship.

If you need anything at all, I'm just across the street. Day or night.
