Nancy Payne Obituary
December 8, 1943 - March 1, 2022
Nancy Weaver Payne, 78, of Roanoke, passed away on Tuesday, March 1, 2022. She was preceded in death by her husband, J. Sherman Payne; parents, Dora Guilliams and Howard Weaver; and brother, Howard Weaver, Jr.
Mrs. Payne was a devoted wife, mother and granny. She was a long-time employee of Appalachian Power Company.
Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law, Todd Dickerson and wife, Patti; daughter and son-in-law, Kim Wood and husband, Corey Gary; grandchildren, Kelsey Dickerson and Corey Gary; brother, Mike Weaver and wife, Betty; numerous nieces, nephews and devoted friends.
The family would like to offer a very special thank you to the staff of Good Samaritan Hospice for their many acts of kindness.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorials be made to the American Heart Association.
A celebration of Nancy's life will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, March 4, 2022, at the Electric Road Chapel of Simpson Funeral Home, 3912 Electric Road. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends in a time of refreshment and reflection from 11 a.m. until the time of the service. The service will be livestreamed for those unable to attend in person. I worked at AEP and Nancy was such a beautiful and sweet person. She was such a lady. She showed me around the offices because I hadn´t been working there that long. I remember her alway so nice and helpful. I knew she had been in the nursing home for a while. She will be greatly missed by everyone that knew her and of course by her children. Sorry for your loss and God bless.
