Norma Hardy

1937 - 2025

Norma Anderson Hardy, 87, of Roanoke, Va., passed away peacefully on November 5, 2025. Born on December 17, 1937, in Fairlea, W.Va., she lived a life grounded in love, faith, and dedication to her family and community.

A graduate of Covington High School and Alice's School of Beauty, Norma combined her education with a warm presence to create a meaningful career. As the owner of Norma's Beauty Shop-operated from her family home-she offered more than beauty services; she created a welcoming space where clients found comfort and connection.

Norma found her greatest joy in motherhood. By running her business from home, she ensured she was present for her daughters each day after school, reflecting her deep commitment to family life.

She is lovingly remembered by her daughters, Teressa Hardy and Kelly Hardy; sisters, Janet Vail and husband, Randy, and Phyllis Snyder; and sister-in-law, Jean Hardy. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews, as well as honorary grandchildren and great-grandchildren who were touched by her nurturing spirit.

She was preceded in death by her husband, David W. Hardy; parents, Wesley Forrest Anderson and Gladys Irene Anderson; brothers, William Anderson, Paul Kenneth Anderson, and Ernest Anderson; and sister, Isabelle Brown.

Norma's faith was a guiding force throughout her life. She gave her heart to the Lord during a summer tent revival as a young girl and remained active in church ministries, especially those involving children.

In high school, she was a Majorette and drummer in the marching band. She enjoyed cooking, entertaining, playing cards and horseshoes, working puzzles, and Mahjong.

A Celebration of Life will be held on November 15, 2025, from 2 to 3 p.m. at Journey Church Central Campus, 5646 Cloverdale Rd. Fellowship will follow the service. Flowers may be delivered to the church by noon that day.
