Patsy Jenkins Hubbard

Nancy Patricia "Patsy" Jenkins Hubbard, 78, of Rocky Mount, Va., passed away peacefully at Franklin Health & Rehabilitation Center, on Saturday, June 11, 2022. Patsy was born on June 3, 1944, to the late Ellis Gasper and Helen Teresa Jenkins in Roanoke, Va. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas R. Hubbard Sr. and brothers, William Ellis Jenkins and Michael Everett Jenkins.

Patsy graduated from Franklin County High School in 1962, where she was an all-state member of the choir. After high school, Patsy began her employment at Hubbard Sheet Metal Works, Inc. in Rocky Mount, Va., where she worked in various managerial roles over a career spanning 40+ years. In addition, Patsy and her husband Thomas owned and operated numerous other businesses including Rockbridge Heating & Cooling, Hubbard Properties, and various livestock and fruit farming ventures. She had a loving relationship with the Lord and was a longtime member of Franklin Heights Baptist Church, where she was an active member of the church choir. She loved traveling and visited numerous European, Asian and Caribbean countries over the years, yet, her favorite place on earth was Franklin County, VA, especially when she was able to spend time at her home on Smith Mountain Lake with family and friends. Above all, Patsy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.

She is survived by her son, Matthew C.E. Hubbard and wife, Erica L. Hubbard, of Roanoke, Va.; the loves her life, grandchildren, Harper (8), Ellis (6), and Hatcher (2); brother, Richard Blair "Butch" Jenkins of Rocky Mount, Va.; loving cousin, Lelia Hubbard of Rocky Mount, Va.; stepchildren, Thomas R. Hubbard Jr. (Evonne) and Mary Turman (Larry); step-grandchildren, Amanda (Doug) Schoonmaker, Wendy (Mark) Dragone, William (Jennifer) Hubbard, and Jamie (Ken) Nevers; sisters-in-law, Shirley Stroupe (Harold), Joyce Jenkins, and Pat Jenkins; loving friends, Walter and Barbara Clingenpeel, Cindy Lowe and numerous other nieces, nephews, and step great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 15, 2022, at Conner-Bowman Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park. Her family will receive friends Tuesday, June 14, 2022, from 5 until 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
