Pauline Lawrence Obituary

Pauline Poage Lancaster Lawrence, of Christiansburg, Va., was born on July 14, 1920, and passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, June 22, 2010, with her children by her side. The daughter of the late Chester Samuel and Minnie Craighead Poage, she is also preceded in death by her husbands; Arlon E. Lancaster and James Lawrence; one son, Edward Ernest Lancaster; and a brother and sister-in-law, Byron and JoAnn Poage. Surviving are her children and their spouses, Arlie Jean Lancaster Sutphin, Pasty Marie Lancaster Whitlow, Kenneth Ray Lancaster and his wife, Darlene, and William Earl Lancaster and his wife, Debbie; and daughter-in-law, Lois A. Lancaster. Also surviving are beloved 14 grandchildren; 17 greatgrandchildren; three greatgreat-grandchildren; and one brother and sister-in-law, Clarence and Geraldine Poage. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Mrs. Lawrence's care givers; Johnny and Rose Pfeiler, P.J. Bishop, Carilion Hospice and Dr. Thomas Mogan with Carilion Christiansburg Family Medicine. Pauline will be remembered for her love of flowers, gardening and great home cooking for all the family. The family will receive friends at The Horne Funeral Home on Thursday, June 24, 2010, from 5 to 8 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held 11 a.m. on Friday, June 25, 2010, at The Horne Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Earl Clemons officiating.
