"May your voice entwine with a wood thrush's flute.
Your spirit soar with a
peregrine's vigor
and your energy be a reflection off the whir of a
ruby throat's wings
For just as these birds are near us, you will always be with us."

To Bill and to All..We are richer for the time Peggy was in our lives and we have one more guardian angel to watch over us, especially as we admire the world she has become an even greater part of. I will miss a very special person that I had the great privilege to work with, bird with and smile with. Peggy always made it all the more special.

Dear Bill and family,
Peggy was the best. We loved to have her speak at our Hampton Roads Bird Club. We enjoyed her at VSO, Sept. field trips to Chincoteague and Outer Banks Feb. trips. She will be in our hearts and with us in spirit as we continue on these field trips. She did so many wonderful things and visited so many places; was quite a trooper.
You have many wonderful memories.
Love, Mary & Ben Copeland, Hampton, VA

Peggy's enthusiasm for birds and birding touched and inspired many people. She organized fun and well-managed field trips for the Virginia Socieity of Ornithology for many years, and of course the Mountain Lake Migratory Bird Festival was her creation. I will always have fond memories of camping and dining with Peggy and Bill at Mt. Rogers. I will miss her very, very much.

Peggy's positive energy and enthusiasm for every aspect of birding was contagious. She was always full of joy, and I enjoyed getting to know her the past few years through VSO and our local Hampton Roads Bird Club. I will carry her warm spirit and easy laughter with me always.

Peggy was a blessing to me. We shared an office at Virginia Skyline Girl Scouts in the 1980s. I will always remember camping trips that four of us Girl Scout staffers (Peggy, HelenRuth, Jeanne and myself) took to Rhododendron Gap and to the Great Smoky Mountains. Those were the best times of my life.
