Phyllis Stump Baublitz

April 9, 1936 - October 3, 2025

Phyllis Stump Baublitz, 89, of Roanoke, VA, went to be with the Lord on Friday, October 3, 2025. Born in Roanoke, Va., on April 9, 1936, to the late Samuel Cassell and Lucy Fralin Stump, she is also preceded in death by her husband, Melvin L. Baublitz; sons, Curtis Hatcher and Clinton Hatcher; grandson, Daniel Alan Swestyn; and her brother, Samuel Stump.

Phyllis was a longtime faithful member of Parkway Church in Roanoke. She worked for Eli-Lilly for more than twenty years before her retirement.

Those remaining to cherish her memory are her daughter, Annette Hatcher Swestyn; granddaughter, Sarah Swestyn Noel; great-grandchildren, Ettyen Noel and Miette Noel; step-grandchildren, Danielle Baublitz, of North Carolina, and Johnny Baublitz; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend their sincerest gratitude to niece, Vicky Alli and her husband, Gary for their compassionate care, love and support of Phyllis.

Interment will be held privately in Sherwood Memorial Park, Salem.
