We are thankful that God chose to allow Deacon Thompson, his wife with that beautiful Spirit and lovely family to serve with us at Central. We count it all joy because truly we see you with the peace and joy of God upon you. We are sorry for your lost; however, at the same time we are glad for how your walk has been a witness unto Father God. Thank you, Thompson Family, again, and again!!! To the Thompson family you have our deepest sympathies. Deacon Thompson will be greatly missed by us all. He was a dear friend to the Jackson family. I will cherish the fond memories of him being my Boy Scout leader and mentor. He would always greeted me with a big smile, firm hand shake and a kind word.

Edith and Family,
This afternoon, James and I were deeply saddened to hear of Preston’s passing. Unfortunately, because of time we are unable to attend the services. Please accept our heartfelt sympathy.
You are in our thoughts and prayers.
Know that:
God is our refuge and strength, a ever-present help in the time of trouble. (Psalm 46:1)
It is our prayer that you will feel God’s comfort, love, peace, joy, and most of all His presence as you go through this difficult time.
Love,
James and Nyra Edwards

Granddad, I am going to miss those strong, reassuring hugs that you always gave me! Everytime I think of you I always remember your quiet strength. When I was little, I would always come sit with you to watch T.V. upstairs because I knew that wherever Granddad was, there would be some peace and quiet! As the good Lord said, "peace be still" and I know that you are now resting with our Father--in peace. I love you, Granddad.

Love,
Angela

To Mrs. Thompson, Art, and Robert,
Deacon Thompson was a good man that loved life and was a beacon to the youth of the Roanoke Valley. I remember coming to your home and hanging out with Robert during my high school years. Mr. Thompson will truly be missed, but know that he has gone to a better place and that everyone will see him again some day.
