Robert L. Hackley Jr. "Bobby", 61, of Roanoke, passed away on Wednesday, November 17, 2021.
He was born on May 2, 1960, to the late Robert and Julia Hackley. He is survived by his wife, Kristy L. Hackley; and three daughters, Citorre'L, Tara, and Peyton.
A visitation and reflection service will be held from 2 until 3 p.m. on Tuesday, November 23, 2021, at Hamlar-Curtis Funeral Home & Crematory. Condolences may be sent to Hamlar-Curtis.com.

I am so sorry to hear about Robert's passing. I served with SGT. Hackley at Fort Campbell, KY at the Headquarters Company 4/187th Infantry Battalion Communications Platoon. I appreciate the mentorship and leadership he gave me. I am sending my condolences to the Hackley family.

I had the awesome pleasure of working with Bobby's mother, Mrs. Julia Hackley. She was precious person to know who loved her children. I was saddened to hear the news of Robert's passing. He stands out as a "gentle giant", truly one of the most respectful, genuine people I came to know over the years. Even though we didn't see each other often, we always connected during the holidays to catch up and wish each other well. Rest in peace my friend.

Robert was a long time friend and co-worker, one of my favorite people. He had such a calm demeanor, level headed and one of the hardest working people I have had the honor to know. Robert will always have a special place in my heart. We laughed a lot during our days at Advance Auto. I will always remember his love for Bread and Butter pickles so that’s what he got from me every Christmas. I will always cherish my tree he planted in my front yard. I call it Roberto. It will remind me of our friendship every time I look out my window. He served our country proudly and cherished his family and friends.
