Robert Peirce JAEGER

Robert Peirce Jaeger, 75, of Roanoke, died Tuesday, June 25, 2013. Robert Peirce Jaeger was born to the late Henry Andrew Jaeger and Elizabeth Lawson Peirce Jaeger, of Jersey City, N.J., December 24, 1937. Robert graduated from Montclair High School in Montclair, N.J., and from the University of Tennessee, where he was a member of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity. Robert was a devoted fan of the New York Yankees and the University of Tennessee football and basketball teams. He enjoyed reading his daily papers, meeting friends for breakfast, listening to NPR Radio and spending time with his wife. He was looking forward to celebrating his 50th wedding anniversary this September. He is survived by his wife, Joyce Cline Jaeger, of Roanoke; his daughter, Jane Brooke Jaeger, of Greenwich, Conn.; and his two sons, Robert Peirce Jaeger II and Lawson Andrew Jaeger, both of Roanoke.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials are made to St. John's Episcopal Church Building Fund, 275 E. Main Street, Wytheville, VA 24382.
A reception will be held for friends and family Friday, June 28, 2013, from 5 to 7 p.m. at 2812 Rosalind Avenue. A private funeral is planned for family.
