Robert PAGANS Obituary
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Nora Pagans; grandson, Kevin Nicholas Pagans; brothers, Walter, Henry and Freddie; and sisters, Clara Simmons, Ruth Morgan, and Shirley Dobson.
Survivors are his devoted wife of 55 years, Helen Nimmo Pagans; sons and their wives, Barry and Jennifer Pagans, of Hampstead, N.C. and Jeff and Lisa Pagans, of Vinton; and five precious grandchildren, Brenna, Allison, Lauren, Joshua, and Lydia. He is also survived by brother, Luther (Lois) Pagans, of Hardy, sisters, Helen Hannabass, of Roanoke, Estelle Marshbanks, of Charlotte, N.C., Louise (Ricky) Hall, of Hardy, and Betty (Herman) Plybon, of Georgia, sister-in-law, Jueleen Holdren, of Hardy, brother-in-law, Troy Dobson; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Funeral services will be conducted at noon on Saturday, January 19, 2013, at Oakey's Vinton Chapel with Pastor Joel Ward officiating. Interment will follow in Mountain View Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family invites your consideration of a gift to Chamblissburg Baptist Church, 9226 Stewartsville Rd, Moneta, VA 24121.

I was so sad to hear of Uncle Nelson's passing. He was a kind and gracious man and always knew how to make us laugh. I know you all will miss him deeply, but I hope you will find comfort in knowing heaven has gained another wonderful angel. I was so blessed to have such a wonderful loving and caring family. Nelson will be remembered as a strong, straight forward and common-sense individual. We faced the death of a grandson together (our daughter Jennifer is married to Barry). His sympathetic counsel and sound advice during this difficult period were a model of grace and dignity. I am confident that these qualities prevailed in all of his endeavors.
