Romona Wright Obituary
April 21, 1942 - May 26, 2025
Romona Darlene Angell Wright, age 83, of Rocky Mount earned her wings on Monday, May 26, 2025, after a long courageous battle with liver disease. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Wilson and Bea Angell; brothers, Thomas Angell, Bruce Angell, Johnny Angell and Tracy Lee Angell; and brother-in-law, Billy Shively.
She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Franklin Wright; daughters, Robin Lavinder (John) and Kim Zorn (Wes); grandsons, Isaac Lavinder (Rosea), Aaron Lavinder (Traci), Brock Zorn and Griffin Zorn; great-granddaughters, Ella Coleman and Lily Lavinder; sisters, Jean Jones (Vernon), Betty Jo Shively, Sarah Heckman (Dan), Stelia Wilbourn (Mark); brother, Wayne Angell (Faye); and sisters-in-law, Myra, Sharon and Sue Angell. Special thanks to Runk and Pratt and also to Franklin County Public Safety for their care.
Funeral services will be conducted from Germantown Brick Church of the Brethren 11 a.m., Thursday, May 29, 2025, with Pastor Greg Broyles officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park. Flowers will be accepted or memorial donations may be made to Germantown Brick Church of the Brethren, 2363 Brick Church Road, Rocky Mount, VA 24151, or to the American Liver Foundation (liverfoundation.org). Her family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Arrangements by Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
