Roy Menefee Obituary
August 8, 1945 - March 28, 2024
Roy G. Menefee, 78, of Roanoke, Va., passed away on Thursday, March 28, 2024.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Garland S. Menefee and Mary Mullins Menefee; his wife, Dreama D. Menefee; his brother, Walter Spencer Menefee; and sister-in-law, Pat Menefee.
Roy grew up in Roanoke and graduated from William Fleming then attended Old Dominion. He served in the United States Air Force as a Missile Systems Analyst. After serving, he returned home to work in the family business, Salem Office Supply. He retired to his farms, first in Botetourt and then in Craig County. He loved living out in the country and raising Belted Galloway cattle. He loved traveling, especially out west and loved riding the steam engine trains.
Roy was a member of Bethel Methodist Church in Sinking Creek, Va.
Left to cherish his memory are his life partner, Claudia Bell; sister, Cindy Smith (Mickey); and nieces, Elizabeth "Beth" Teller, Suzanne Nunn, and Emily Nunn.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 6, 2024, at Oakey's South Chapel. A reception will follow at Colonial Presbyterian Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or to Angels of Assisi. Condolences may be shared with the family by visiting www.Oakeys.com.
