Roy Edward Webb

Roy Edward Webb, 88, of Troutville, died May 7, 2011. Born April 30, 1923, he was the son of the late James Roy and Ada Calhoun Webb. He was a member of the Troutville Church of the Brethren. Roy retired from Nelson Hardware and Ingersoll-Rand. He served 33 months in the United States Army Air Force during World War II and was a life member of VFW Post 1841. Roy was preceded in death by his parents, his sisters, Eva Adams, Betty Graybill and Ann Myers. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Margaret Rader Webb; sister and brother-in-law, Sue and Sam Sprinkel, of Daleville; sister, Alma Lively, of Rupert, W.Va.; brother-in-law, Thomas Adams, of Richmond; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Bob and Phyllis Woodie, of Troutville; Don and Barbara Divers, of Roanoke; Carla Wright Campbell, of Roanoke; Jack and Gale Rader, of Troutville; a number of special nieces and nephews and many dear friends. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Troutville Church of the Brethren, P.O. Box 156, Troutville, VA 24175, would be appreciated. Visiting time will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 10, 2011 at Rader Funeral Home in Daleville. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 11, 2011 at the Troutville Church of the Brethren with the Rev. Maurice Wright and the Rev. J. Weldon Myers officiating. Interment will follow at Mill Creek Cemetery. The family would like to thank the staff and management of The Glebe for their care of Roy in his final weeks.
