Royce Meredith Collins

Royce Meredith (Rastus) Collins, 68, of Royal Drive, Pembroke, departed this life peacefully on Tuesday afternoon, April 5, 2011, at LewisGale Hospital Montgomery in Blacksburg with his family at his side. He was retired from Celanese with 33 years service as a millwright-mechanic. He was a member of Castle Rock Lodge No 334 AF & AM in Pembroke and was of the Christian Faith. He was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin H. and Janice Williams Collins; a sister, JoAnn Day; and brother-inlaw, David Gautier. He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 48 years, Phyllis Jones Collins; his two special sons, Kevin Collins and his wife, Laura, and Jeff Collins and his wife, Shelia; his two special grandchildren, Hunter Collins and Kendra Collins; and her fiancée, Daniel Frazier; his very special greatgranddaughter, Reagan; his sister, Phyllis C. Gautier; and his very special brother, Marvin (Buddy) Collins. At Royce's request there will be no public visitation. Graveside Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 9, 2011, in the Kessinger Family Cemetery at Interior on Big Stony Creek with Pastor Eddie Kendall and Pastor Gary Poff officiating.
