Ruby Grimes Obituary

Ruby Pangle Grimes, 89, of Roanoke, Va., went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 11, 2009. She was preceded in death by her husband, T. Brook Grimes; and daughters, Ruby Joann and Patricia Mae Grimes. Surviving are her son, Bruce Grimes and special friend, Donald Clarke, of Washington, D.C.; daughter, Sandy Albright and husband, D. G. Albright, of Roanoke; grandson, Dustin Albright and wife, Amy, of Greenville, S.C.; granddaughter, Hilary Albright, of Richmond; sisters, Martina Hodge, of Deland, Fla., and Nancy Peircey, of Falls Church, Va. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Roanoke United Methodist Home, 1009 Old Country Club Road, Roanoke, Va. 24019. Funeral services will be conducted 3 p.m. on Thursday, January 15, 2009, at Simpson Funeral Home, 5160 Peters Creek Road by the Rev. Roy Miller. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will be Saturday, January 17, 2009, in Chesnut Grove Cemetery, Herndon, Va. Arrangements by Simpson Funeral Home & Crematory, 540-366-0707.

I didn't know Ruby well, but it's always a sad landmark event when even a distant relative passes away. My sincere condolences to her son and daughter and close family members.

i am so sorry for your lost i use to take care of ruby at the methodist home when i work in dietary she will truly be miss she was a sweet lady
