December 11, 1944 - December 20, 2024
Terry Lee Witt, 80, of Roanoke, passed away peacefully, Friday, December 20, 2024. He was preceded in death by his parents, Stewart L. and Frances P. Witt; sister, Teresa Taylor (Jay); brothers, Herman Witt (Peggy) and Dennis Witt (Doris).
Terry is survived by his wife of 31 years, Judy Witt; sons, Scott A. Witt (Jaime), Greg L. Witt, and Christopher Witt; stepdaughter, Amanda Fenner; grandchildren, Dylan Witt, Connor Witt, Adam Witt, Griffin Witt, Stella Fenner, and Roman Fenner; former wife, Bonnie Harris; sister, Charlotte McBride (Jerry); brothers, Gary Witt (Bev) and David "Pete" Witt (Libby).
Terry lived for his days spending time with family and friends. He especially cherished his time with his brothers and close friends working at the garage or just sitting around the stove telling stories. They all shared a passion for Jeeps and tinkering on anything that moved. Terry dedicated most of his life working at the Railroad where he found not just a career but some of his best lifelong friends. Terry was always helping others and many times taking care of them before himself.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Harmony Memory Care for their care for Terry.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to a dementia charity of your choice in Terry's name.
The family will receive friends Friday, December 27, 2024, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Simpson Funeral Home, Peters Creek Road Chapel.

I am saddened to hear of Terry's passing. I always enjoyed chatting with him! Our father's worked together at Fulton truck as did other Witt brothers. My father thought the world of of the boys and often visited them at the garage.
I pray for comfort and peace for all those who loved and cherished Terry at this difficult time.
